Scene from the Train

I love train travel and while riding I am inspired by the scenery. Over the past 5 years I've become a fan of Amtrak travel and have now travelled across the country three times by train. The views are inspiring. Plus, I've discovered a tribe of other train travel lovers that I consider my nomadic tribe.

Twittering and Tweeting

OK, so I'm trying to tweet and I am in information sharing overload. Where do I post the most updated Amy activities? Facebook, this blog, Twitter? Yes, I may be extroverted but even all this transparency is becoming too much.

My conclusion is: 

• Tidbits about what I'm doing on Twitter. 
• The blog is for deeper thoughts and images from activities. 
• Facebook is where I focus on what I'm eating.

Business Volunteers for the Arts Feasibility Study

About eight years ago I ran a program called Business Volunteers for the Arts here in San Francisco. Unfortunately the program folded along with its host Business Arts Council about 18 months ago. It is a real loss for the community.

Since my return I've been told by arts, business and funding folks that the program is missed. In response I'm put together a committee of arts and business leaders to conduct a feasibility to study to see if we can re-launch the program. We're keeping a blog http://www.bvastudy.blogspot.com/ and would love your input in the study. All are welcome to share their feedback.

Crackberry Users Unite

I went a little over the top today and transitioned from no internet access (except via cafes) to full throttle internet access. Yes, I admit, I purchased a crackberry. Oh it feels so good to have internet and email at my fingertips. Plus, I bought a new wireless adapter for my laptop and now I have wireless at home too. Oh yes, I will never again leave the comfort of my room.

When it comes to technology I am anything but bleeding edge. So, giving up my super little mobile phone which I brought over with me from the UK is really hard, especially since it has that super camera on it. However, my blackberry has a camera (not as good) and I can blog and post photos instantly. Can't beat that.

Closed out Career Goals Blog

I woke up in the middle of the night last night and had a realization - the Career Goals blog was too much for me to keep up. I wasn't passionate about it as I am about this blog. Did I ever reference the content? No. It had so few hits that I realized it was just more jibber jabber to keep me busy. So, I just deleted it. Gosh, it went away in less than a second. That was a bit scary.

Dear Readers,

I've created a set of instructions on how to post comments on a blog. Hopefully this simplifies the process. It was confusing for me at first so I imagine it could be for you too.
